So they've managed to make the prints browsing system
even worse now.
Not only has it become slightly more counter-intuitive to browse for prints, it is now also completely
impossible to change the way you browse for prints.
Previously, when you entered the prints store, it was clear that you were starting out on the 'Most Popular' page and could change your browsing to 'Most Recent'.
But in DeviantART's ever-desperate quest to appease those they deem
popular the latter option has now been removed. Now, if you're starting at the storefront, you
have to browse the DeviantART-Approved Way - it's only the popular kiddies from here on in!
The further into the gallery system you get (and you do have to dig quite far - I was four or five subfolders deep before this happened), the more you can see of their "Super Speshul Algorithm" for prints browsing. It consists of all the popular pieces (who'da thunk it?) with somewhere between five and ten from the 'bottom of the pile', either less popular or new releases. I'm browsing Digital-3D-Male and I browse in groups of 60; there's 6 on this page. Two of them are fanart and therefore the prints (theoretically, if someone is doing their job right) will be rejected when you try to buy them, and three are 2D anthro. (Gallery moderation? What's that?)
It makes you wonder what it is you pay for, doesn't it?
Unless you're a big name on DA, of course. And then you get what you pay for.
